The Central Government has told the Supreme Court that the Income Tax Department (IT) has detected 'undisclosed income' of about Rs 71,941 crore in intensive research, seizure and raids in the last three years. The Finance Ministry filed an affidavit in the apex court and said that during the ban on bondage till November 10 this year, from November 9 this year, the amount of undisclosed income was more than 5,400 crore. The gold recovered as well was 303.367 kilograms. ' It was detected from April 1, 2014 till 28 February this year, details of undisclosed income were also given.

In the affidavit it was stated that in these three years, the Income Tax Department raided at least 2,027 groups. Among them, more than 36,051 crore undeclared income was detected. It includes the seizure of undisclosed assets of Rs 2,890 crore. The Finance Ministry had recently refused to give more time to change old 500 and 1000 notes out of the currency. The Ministry had said that the Home Ministry had said in a communique on July 11 that according to the report of intelligence agencies heavy offices of the old notes that were closed were misused.
