New York: NASA will seek the help of an asteroid to test the network of its observatories. This asteroid is expected to pass close to Earth in October this year. This asteroid passing through the Earth will be beneficial for those scientists, who work to protect the planets.

According to a press statement issued on NASA's website earlier in the week, the goal of this whole effort is the Asteroid 2012 TC4. It is a small asteroid which is between the size of 10 and 30 meters.

The asteroid TC4 will safely pass around Earth on 12th October and the scientist is sure that it will not be closer to 6,800 km from the Earth's surface. This asteroid has been out of range of visionary since 2012.

Indian-origin scientist Vishnu Reddy has said that this is an opportunity for cooperative surveillance campaign to use the international aspect of the network.

Arizona University Professor Reddy said, "This is a collective effort, in which more than a dozen observatories, universities and laboratories around the world are involved, in which we will collectively understand the capabilities and limitations of our observation on the object near our Earth. "
