Congress's performance in many states of Maharashtra including Mumbai against rising petrol prices

MUMBAI: The oil prices are skyrocketing across the country and in protest against this, Congress workers protested in many states of Maharashtra including Mumbai. On Tuesday, the price of petrol in Mumbai went up to 80 rupees 77 paise and diesel prices were 68 paise to 13 paise. From January 1, oil prices have been steadily rising and the price of petrol in Mumbai has remained around 80.

GST joins petrol and diesel
Contrary to the oil prices, the Congress demanded to include petrol and diesel in GST. Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam claimed that by bringing petroleum products to GST, the price of petrol will be Rs 40-42 and diesel and gas will also be available at cheaper prices.

It is affecting the common man.
The impact of rising petrol and diesel prices is also affecting the business. Suresh Kosala works as a transport and constantly increasing oil prices have influenced his business. The cab driver Sachin More said that the rising prices of petrol diesel are falling on their earnings because their earnings goes up in filling petrol and diesel.
