Mary Kom Imposed Golden Punch, Won Indian Open title

Indian boxer MC Mary Kom won gold at the last day of the Indian Open boxing tournament on Thursday, while Sarita Devi had to be satisfied with the silver medal. Boxers in Cuba and Uzbekistan heavily burden Indian players in most of the men's matches

Mary Kom defeated Philippine's Josi Gabuko 4-1 in the final of the 48 kg weight category to give her the gold medal. Prior to this, Pillai Basumatari (64kg) won the gold medal.

Former world and Asian bronze medalist defeated Sudaporn Sisondi of Thailand 3-2. This Assamese boxer has also named the Nation Cup 2015 in Serbia.

Another boxer from Assam, Lolina Borgohen, was successful in winning the gold medal in the Welterweight (69kg) category by defeating Pooja. El Sarita Devi (60kg) lost to Finland's Olympic bronze medalist Mira Potcenon in silver finals with silver medal. Sarita missed the match 2-3 after playing a game of great size.

In the men's category Sanjit (91kg) won the first gold for the country. They defeated Sajar Tursunov of Uzbekistan. Yesterday, Manish Kaushik (60kg), who reversed the defeat of Asian medalist Shiva Thapa, got the gold medal without getting into the ring. Manish's rival Batamur Mishtil could not play the match due to injury.

Asian Games silver medalist Satish Kumar (more than 91kg), Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan had to satisfy the silver medal with a 4-1 win.

Dinesh Dagar (69kg) also lost to Bobo-Usman Bagutorov of Uzbekistan in a very exciting final match.

Devanshu Jaiswal was defeated by David Gutierrez of Cuba in the 81kg category of men and Swete Burra of 75kg category by Issenie Clottilde of Cameroon. Each gold medal winner of the competition was awarded $ 2500 and silver and bronze medalists were awarded a prize money of $ 1500 and $ 500, respectively.
