Sushma assured India's cooperation for political stability in Nepal
Kathmandu: After successfully completing parliamentary and provincial elections in Nepal, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assured the assistance of India on the political stability of neighboring countries and ongoing efforts towards development. Sushma made this statement in a conversation with CPN-Maoist Center president Prachanda. Sushma, who arrived here yesterday on a two-day visit, said, "We will fully support Nepal for achieving political stability and development."
The two leaders met at breakfast in Hotel Solty Crown Plaza this morning. Prachanda said, "We discussed the emerging situation after the election was over and after the preparation of the new government."
His party had recently made a Left alliance with CPN-UML in the elections held in Nepal. Prachanda said, "I told Sushma Swaraj that we want political stability and development for which we need cooperation from neighboring countries.
Sushma assured that India will give full support to Nepal's efforts for political stability and development. "The Maoist leader said that Sushma was eager to know about the ongoing political developments in Nepal.
He said, "We have a very positive and constructive dialogue. He congratulated the Left alliance on winning the recently concluded elections. "Sushma also met President Vidya Bhandari. He will also meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today and meet other leaders before leaving for Delhi.
