Railways can run more than 100 new trains by cutting down stops: Piyush Goyal
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal today said that an analysis conducted by his department has found that more than 100 new trains can be run on short routes by cutting down the "leovers time".
"Leisure Time" is defined as the time of its stoppage before departure from its initial station of a train or after reaching the final station. In the 58th National Cost Conference here, Goyal said, "An analysis has found that more than 100 new trains can be started using long-running trains on short routes."
The Union Minister gave examples of high-speed dynamic expressing walk between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Agra. This train has now been decided to run till Gwalior. Then it will extend to Jhansi, which will cut it in time of its stoppage. He said that due to the expansion of the speed trains, the people of Bundelkhand region also benefited and no additional cost was paid.
Comments The Railway Minister said that the details of the analysis can be declared soon. On the role of cost accountants and cost accounting, Goyal said that he has to play a key role in making the country competitive in achieving the best competitive advantage of doing business and work in India. He said that cost accountants also have a big role to play in controlling corruption in the country.
