iOS 12 available from today, here's how to install it
To be able to install iOS12, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system coming up today, you must first check to have the right device. As always, in fact, some of the oldest are excluded from the availability of the update. Announced at the last Wwdc in June and perfected in the months jumping from one beta to another, iOS12 can be installed on all iPhone from the 5s and up to X. The new XS, XS Max and XR presented last week they will arrive already equipped with the new environment.

Not only iPhone: iOS12 can also be installed on iPad mini from the second version, on iPad Pro in both available diagonals (9.7 and 12.9 inches), on 10.5-inch iPad (first and second generation), on iPad introduced between 2017 and 2018, on iPad Air and iPad Air 2. Finally, it is also possible to download and launch it on the sixth generation iPod Touch. All other Apple devices are excluded.

Two methods to update, assuming that it is always advisable to make a backup either via iCloud or locally via iTunes. The fastest is directly from the iPhone or iPad looking for the new version in Settings> General> Software Updates. But there will also be a red notification on the app. Then, if iOS12 is already available as it should, you will see a card with dimensions and description: you have to click on Download and install the battery at least 50% (or the device being charged).

The other way is to update it through the latest version of iTunes, by connecting the phone to the PC or Mac via USB cable. Even in that case you will need to click on the dedicated command to check for updates and follow the instructions: iTunes will then act as an intermediary, downloading from Apple servers and passing the new environment on the device.

Some users always prefer to wait for the first correction release after a massive update like this that will bring several new features such as Do Not Disturb, the section dedicated to better manage the time we spend in front of the phone, better overall performance and Memoji, the Animoji personal.
