IND vs WI: India's first bowling, Rishabh Pant made debut
IND vs WI:
First ODI between India and West Indies in the five-match ODI series in Guwahati.

The first match of the five-match ODI series between India and West Indies is being played in Guwahati. Team India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl and invited the West Indies to bat first.

The Indian team will be on the verge of testing the World Cup preparations next year from the series against the West Indies. India will play 18 ODIs before the World Cup to be held in England.

After the stormy debut in Tests, wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant will now debut in ODI also. Rishabh Pant has been included in the 12-man squad for the first ODI. Pant made 92-92 runs in the two-match Test series against the West Indies. Indian captain Virat Kohli is also returning to ODIs from this series. Kohli was rested during the Asia Cup.

Kohli eyes on this record

Kohli can complete his 10000 runs in ODIs from this series. Kohli has scored 9779 runs in ODIs and he needs only 221 runs to join the 'Ten Hajari' club. With this achievement, Kohli will break Sachin Tendulkar's world record in the fastest 10000 ODI runs.

This series will be like veteran batsman and former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni himself who proved to be struggling during the Asia Cup. Dhoni scored only 77 runs in four matches of the Asia Cup. With the coming of Pant, the pressure to do well on Dhoni is increasing.

India is struggling to find a permanent batsman for the number-4 in the mediocre. But here Ambati Rayudu will have the chance to land on number-4 and prove himself. Raidu would like to repeat his Asia Cup form here too, where he scored 175 runs in six innings.

In bowling, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuswendra Chahal are once again ready to do amazing with their spin. In fast bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah have been rested for the first two matches and Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have been given the chance.

Guests of the West Indies team will also want to leave behind the Test performance and start a new ball with a white ball. Although Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Iwann Lewis, the West Indies team will be under some pressure. The guest team will not be able to get the services of their coach Stuart Law, who have been suspended for the first two matches in violation of the Code of Conduct.
