Police arrested three policemen, including a sub-Inspector who illegally collected truck owners and drivers from Thane district of Maharashtra. Two exterior persons were also caught with them. Those who are being said to be helpful for the policemen.
While disclosing this matter on Tuesday, Thane police said that three policemen and two other persons have been arrested in connection with the illegal eviction from the transporter. Thane Rural Police spokesman said that the arrested policemen have been identified as Deputy Inspector Sameer Shinde, Constable Ajay Shetty and Datta Ingole. All of these are connected with the Vashind Police.
Police spokesman said that besides the three policemen, two persons Arun Jadhav and Manoj Raut were also arrested. All of them are accused of illegal recovery. The spokesman said that the incident is from April 13. On that day the transporter of the 125 cold storage truck had lodged a complaint to the police that the accused stopped and checked a truck full of meat in Vasind.
Even after all the documents of truck and goods, the accused policemen demanded a bribe of Rs five lakh from the truck driver and owner and said that no case will be registered. After this, the transporter lodged a complaint in the police station in Vasind and lodged a complaint against the accused.
The police investigated the investigation and arrested the five people. Taking cognizance of the matter, top police officials handed over the investigation to the Police Deputy Commissioner DM Godbole. Action has been taken against the accused only after their investigation report.
