At the end of last March, Apple announced its entry into video on demand services and the production of original series and films through the front door, with names like Jennifer Aniston, Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Octavia Spencer, Sofia Coppola and Damien Chazelle teaming up with the company under the Apple TV + label.

Now new rumors say that Apple is planning to produce about six low-budget films a year with the intention of being candidates for the Oscars.

The budget of these projects would go from 5 to 30 million dollars, so the intention is to develop relevant stories with the help of some of the most reputable actors and directors in the industry.

The success of Rome on Netflix and the awards of the Academy will undoubtedly have inspired Apple to put this goal and choose to take some statuettes home with original ideas.
