After the first suggestive official image of Prey, the first teaser trailer of the new prequel of the Predator saga has been released, which also reveals the release date. In fact, in this new video, which you can find at the opening, we learn that the film will arrive on August 5th exclusively on Disney +.
As previously communicated, Prey will be set about 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation, an area inhabited by the homonymous population of Native Americans, which extends in the South of the USA along the current borders of New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The protagonist is Naru, played by Amber Midthunder, a ferocious and skilled warrior, ready to defend her people from a new threat, which will reveal itself to be the alien Predator. Additionally, we know that Prey will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg, director of the acclaimed 10 Cloverfield Lane spin-off of the Cloverfield franchise, and the first episode of the first season of The Boys.
In addition to this information, there was also already announced the release date of Prey. To be precise, it was only communicated that the film would arrive exclusively via streaming in an indicative "Summer 2022". Today, in the new trailer we are specified that Prey will arrive next August 5th in the Disney + Star catalog.
Going into the detail of the trailer, in the video, we observe a short sequence in which Naru escapes from danger in a clearing and is assisted by another member of her tribe, on whose forehead we see the iconic laser of the Predator.
