copyrightChristian Bale Chasing a Killer: First Dark Trailer for Netflix's Gothic Horror Thriller The Pale Blue Eye - 3Movierulz
"The Pale Blue Eye" is about Edgar Allan Poe, whom many bookworms nowadays describe as the great horror pope of literature. Despite what it may seem at first glance, it's not Oscar-winner Christian Bale who is slipping into the role of the pioneer of modern horror and crime fiction in the upcoming Netflix film. Instead, a "Harry Potter" star takes over the part!

The young Edgar Allan Poe is embodied here by Harry Melling - and of course, most people know him as Dudley Dursley from the "Harry Potter" films. In the meantime, however, the British actor has already detached himself well from his former image and has proven several times with "The Sunken City of Z", "The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs", "The Queen's Gambit" and "The Old Guard" that he is quite changeable. In the first trailer for "The Pale Blue Eye", Melling is also allowed to express his presence in a few short moments.
So while Harry Melling slips into the role of Edgar Allan Poe, Christian Bale embodies the experienced investigator Augustus Landor in "The Pale Blue Eye". Landor is actually retired, but in 1830 he is assigned to investigate a series of murders at a military academy. There he meets a young cadet who not only shows great interest in Landor's investigative methods but also has a pronounced fascination for the morbid.

A STAR-FILLED NOVEL ADAPTATION!
While the crime-mystery storyline and somber, hazy trailer would suggest that The Pale Blue Eye's story was originally written by Edgar Allan Poe, the truth is quite different. Poe is only one of the heroes of the story, but not its creator. Instead, The Pale Blue Eyes was penned by Louis Bayard. The writer received critical acclaim for his ability to accurately capture the mood of a Poe book.
The Pale Blue Eye will be available on Netflix on January 6, 2023. A theatrical release is also slated for December 2022 in the United States. The gothic horror thriller was directed by Scott Cooper, who previously worked with Christian Bale on Eye for an Eye and Enemies – Hostiles. The cast also includes Gillian Anderson, Robert Duvall, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lucy Boynton, Timothy Spall, and Toby Jones. Scored by The Lord of the Rings composer Howard Shore.
