Dhanush has showcased his skills in acting as well as in the roles of writer and director in his 50th film "Ryan". Starring Sandeep Kishan, SJ Surya, Dushara Vijayan, and Kalidas Jayaram, the film has been released today in both Telugu and Tamil languages. Let's know what special this film has to offer.
Story
The story of the film "Ryan" is based on childhood struggles and protecting the family. Ryan (Dhanush) was given the responsibility by his parents to protect his three siblings, but the parents never returned. Ryan dedicated his entire life to his siblings. The story includes the events of the territorial battle between Durai (Saravanan) and Sethu (SJ Surya), the Municipal Commissioner's (Prakash Raj) resolve to eliminate all gangs, and Ryan's brother (Sundeep Kishan) getting caught in gangs. Ryan's struggle to save his brother is the mainstay of the film.
Performances
Dhanush plays a reserved yet dangerous character as Ryan. While this is not an iconic performance like some of his other films, he still steals the show. Sandeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, and SJ Suryah have done impressive work in their respective characters. Aparna Balamurali, Prakash Raj, and Selvaraghavan have also performed well in their limited roles.
Technical Aspects
Among the technical team of the film, AR Rahman's background score is excellent, while the songs are forgettable. Om Prakash's cinematography brings a gloomy and dark tone to the film. The production values by Sun Pictures are excellent, but there is room for improvement in the editing.

Analysis
"Raayan" is a gangster story that we have seen many times, but Dhanush has tried to give it a new look. The film has emotional scenes and elements of action drama, but there is no surprise factor in the story. The first half runs on a flat note and remains predictable even after the interval. The climax sequence also had room for improvement.
Conclusion
Dhanush's 50th film "Raayan" shows his acting and direction, but the routine and slow pace of the story makes this film a normal experience. However, for Dhanush fans, this film is definitely worth a watch.
